What are our aims?
The key to success is knowing who to talk to, or contact and who better than those who have done it. Burntwood In-sight Group is a self-help voluntary organisation. Our members are all visually impaired themselves, or are the carers of people with a visual impairment.
- Being positive:
- Supporting one another and making choices which allow independence and a new found freedom for the visually impaired and help their family and friends.
- Improving your skills
- Learning about new equipment, such as easy quick ways to label your food cupboard, reading and magnifiers.
- Seeking help
- Getting help early and easy access to groups and other organisations for you and your family, friends and work colleagues can improve the quality of your life.
- Gathering information
We want to make living in Burntwood area better for people like us. The more members we have, the stronger our voice will be. We was formed in April 2013 there were only 10 of Member, we are growing each month - we now have almost 30 members.
This figure only represents a minority of registered visually impaired people in our area, and we are growing all the time.
This website will enable you to keep up to date with the issues that affect you. It will be regularly updated with news and events.
We currently have a small band of volunteers who carry out a variety of jobs for the club including preparing the refreshments, arranging the entertainments and fundraising.
Our members include both men and women and we are always looking for additional volunteers from both sexes. Everyone has a valuable and valued contribution to make.
For some members visiting the club is the only time that they come out of their homes for any social interaction so one of the most important things we can provide is, simply, the opportunity for conversation and laughter.
If you feel that you could find the time even on an occasional basis to help out in any capacity, however minor, we would like to hear from you.
You will be made most welcome!!
